Snooth, launched in the United States last year, is a social wine recommendation and price comparison site that claims to be the site more Big wine. Snooth makes money through its affiliation agreements with many of the merchants and wineries that exhibit their actions on the site. So far, the site has had two rounds of funding. In essence, Surfers must fill out a simple questionnaire (supported by the software complex database backend) to help determine what wines that users can enjoy the drink. Once the questionnaire is completed, the user gets their own unique profile of UTP or tasting, then games against two databases, one containing their wines giving profile, and the second to locate stores in your area that sell these wines. The purpose of the site is to empower consumers find wines according to their own profile and not some stranger who taste wines for a living and have no idea of what we like to drink!
Also on the site are food and food pairing suggestions (also matching user profiles) and a mobile version for the wine harvest when you're on the road, in a restaurant or wine shop. The site will be a from autumn to early winter 2008.
