Legendary "Second Summer" arrives in Oregon Coast
It is likely that most news story on the Oregon coast, however, is one of the biggest secrets in the area: Fall is just the beginning of some really warm weather and the start of a load of features that make this a tasty time of year on these beaches.
This pristine and often wild area, legendary for being one of the cleanest sands in the world, is also completely free to the public: no one owns any part of the coast of Oregon, and nobody has to pay to play there (with the exception of a few parks state with lower rates).
Fall is known as the "Second Summer" here: the meaning of this part of the Pacific coast is in its warmest in September and early October.
By the time September comes around, the sea is at its hottest point after being heated throughout the season. Meanwhile, things get cooler in the Willamette Valley – On the other side of the Andes mountains to the coast – which equals the difference temperature between the two. This allows the hot air flows from the east and California to help warm things even more, as well as the wind causes death in general and the fog decreases.
During the summer, the temperature differences drive the sea breezes and fog. But early fall, these differences are not as significant, allowing these factors together and decisions to sunnier, warmer days of June than in August.
Weather experts say they often last well into October, with half of the month usually be a turning point towards more bad weather. However, in 2004, which are like summer conditions lasted well into the last days of the month.
Above all, this season has fewer people, lower lodging prices and fewer cars on the road – Making the most of this time of year to venture into the Pacific Ocean.
