When should I take a hostess gift?
I have been invited to quite a few parties this year. They include large, addresses issues Luxury holiday house parties, tea ladies in the country club places, and intimate dinners (about 10 people). I usually bring gifts or flowers small host of smaller events staff, and a bottle of wine for dinner, but I wonder if it is appropriate to bring a bottle of wine for the larger, attending formal parties? Is it OK to arrive with empty hands in the holidays? The hosts certainly are not throwing parties with an expectation of gifts or contributions (We are "mature" side of 40) but do not want to appear rude. Thoughts?
If you go to a party at someones house is always good to bring a gift for the host or hostess. You can bring flowers, wine, or something more personal, like an ornament, if it is a party. If you go to a party at an art room banquet or place any donation is necessary, but a thank you card after the fact (written by hand) is always a nice touch. Enjoy and good luck
