Traveling with gifts?
I bought a couple of glasses of wine, but really nice theyve been sealed and gift wrapped in the store (pretty packaging really too!) For my sisters wedding] now I wondered if I were to fly from LAX to Europe what would happen for security? I have to open the box and remove the security features to see what's inside? … a bit like the way they do with laptops in their cases? or I be able to run it through X-ray, because then it would be nice
It is always recommended that gifts not be wrapped before the security checkpoint, because TSA unwrap if they think it necessary. Having said that – I have no idea if you simply insist that unfolded, or just want to unfolded when asked about the content after to look at X-ray image If the box is inside your hand luggage, and passes through the x-ray machine like that, then do not think you would know if the box was wrapped or not. Expect the best but prepare for the worst.
