What country outside the Pacific coast has the best wine?
(Specifically, not including California, Washington and Oregon) My thoughts are New York, but I did not sample enough states / storage for a significant sample.
New York State. I have had excellent wines Finger Lakes. My favorites include the Dr. Konstantin Frank and Hermann Wiemer winery. Its Rieslings are particularly good as the Finger Lakes climate is suitable for this grape.
